Veneers — An easy solution for correcting discoloured, chipped or misaligned teeth.
Porcelain veneers are the perfect solution for correcting discoloured, chipped or misaligned teeth. Dr. AminZadeh understands how important your smile is in creating positive opportunities in ways nothing else can. If your smile is perfect but for one or two discoloured, chipped or misaligned teeth, porcelain veneers are a safe and affordable solution.
What is a Veneer?
A veneer is a thin layer of material placed over a tooth, either to improve the aesthetics of a tooth or to protect a tooth’s surface. Porcelain veneers are extremely durable and their natural looking colour is long lasting.
Types of Veneers
Porcelain veneers are thin shells of porcelain that are attached to the front of a tooth. The purpose of this is to improve the aesthetic look of the tooth. Porcelain is strong and stable with the ability to last 10-15 years. Once molded, they look natural, mirroring a regular tooth’s exterior.
Ceramic veneers are sometimes made with ceramic porcelain or pressed ceramic. Pressed ceramic veneers are similar to regular porcelain veneers in that they are strong and stable. They are able to sufficiently cover up cosmetic defects on the surface of teeth.
How long do Porcelain Veneers last?
Porcelain veneers are very strong and while they can technically last you a lifetime, this is not realistic. Wear and tear on the surface of a porcelain veneer does occur. A more realistic estimate is 10-15 years but ultimately varying from case by case.
How Do Veneers Work?
The procedure is usually done in two or three visits. Using leading edge technology, Dr. Aminzadeh will prepare an image of the tooth or teeth requiring a veneer, custom engineer it, and then bond the veneer to your teeth. It’s simple and painless and the results are transformational.
